Haven for Hope Rescue is fulfilling a lifelong mission of giving neglected or abandoned animals a second chance at finding happy, forever homes that provide the joy, love, and safety they all deserve. For the past 25+ years, Cathy, a physician specializing in the care of people living with HIV, has been volunteering with various animal rescues across Los Angeles as a devoted foster to dogs, young and old, with a particular soft spot for those with health and/or behavioral issues, as well as orphaned puppies requiring bottle feeding. Just over a decade ago, Cathy met her beloved partner, Brian, a screenwriter/producer, who shared in her intense love of animals.

Together, we hope to realize our dream of being able to do more to support animal welfare with our own animal rescue, Haven for Hope, with the goal of caring for, rehabilitating, and successfully rehoming dogs in need. Our newly acquired 11-acre property in rural San Luis Obispo is centrally located and will allow us to support some of the highest-risk animals from animal shelters across California. We commit to advocating and providing for our animals with love, shelter, nutrition, medical care, support, exercise, and enrichment.
